Teaching Crisis in Maycomb County

By: Morgan MacDonald

Hello, my name is Morgan MacDonald and today I am going to be reporting to you about a serious topic going on in Macomb County. Inside reports on this topic have been brought to our attention that Ms.Caroline is in fact holding an extraordinary student back from her greatest potential. Earlier this year Jean Louise (Scout) started her first year of school in Macomb County. She was certainly ready for this year to come, because she was already ahead of the curriculum. Apparently, her father has been reading to her ever since she was a little girl. She caught on to his fluent words after a while, and can now read amazingly well.

At the start of this year Ms.Caroline started her first year of teaching. She was enrolled into Macomb Counties school, the board of the school thought she would be a perfect fit for this environment. We aren’t exactly sure this was a correct choice. It seems that Jean Louise was put into her class, and the teacher and her did not seem to get along. On the first day of school Scout openly read outloud to the class, unfortunately we found out that Ms. Caroline did not appreciate this.

We aren’t exactly sure why the teacher did not applaud her for her efforts, but instead scolded her. According to her, the students aren’t supposed to be reading at such a young age. Ms. Louise is in fact a child prodigy and should be sent flying high for her efforts, not being backed up. We are hoping that the school get’s our message and understands that we want the best for Scout. She should be set up for the best of her abilities not held back, because that is not what is expected of her.
